10/24/04 - Battle of the bands has just come to a close. The final verdict:  despite severe technical difficulties by the lead singer....Sunnydale, Ohio placed 2nd at Central Catholic Battle of the Bands. (The Up-and-Comers) We also won the "least rock star look" award, and "the best tamborine" award-- name withheld to protect Charles. The band was absolutely incredible. They played through the technical glitches and  proved we were troopers. The chemistry with the crowd was great. They loved us, they yelled, screamed, hollered at the top of their lungs in support of the band.  Our sincerest thanks to our friends from Providence and IWHS for their decibels. Gerard G, thanks for setting up battle of the bands, thanks to the Band for strutt'n their stuff, but most of all...on behalf of SDO, thanks to all the fans, friends, and music afficianados for supporting us through out the show. Thank you for making our first show awesome, and next time it will be better than awesome. We love you all!!!

12/22/05 - Funniest day ever...today was the first day Steve has used his new Gibson Les Paul Studio at a band practice in Marks garage. As probably one of the sexiest guitars we have ever heard or seen, Steve decided to crank the volume to a level that could have been heard in New York. So there we are, minding our own buisness, playing a new song of ours when a cop pulls up and sits at the end of the driveway with the window down. The next thing we know a siren blares out a cry of justice and a voice is heard over the P.A. "Lead Guitarist...Come over here...Yes you!...Lead guitarist." The rest of the band laughs while we watch Steve walk over to the police cruiser like a scolded puppy. He gets to the car and seems to be having a convorsation with the cop. Hes leaning on the car real smooth like Keller is. After about 2 minutes, Keller strolls over and picks up his guitar. "So what did he say?" We all ask almost in unison. "He was telling me that I am overpowering the rest of the band...that we should turn it down...(after a slight pause)...Oh yeah...and he said we suck!" To our defense, it was a new song, and we were using a new guitar which sounded completly different from Steve's old Fender Strat. Great day...we finally figured out that we should only use the Gibson on our blues sounding songs. Thank you SAPD!

10/30/04 - Halloween night...what a day what a day. Today we played a show for all the trick or treaters out in the front yard of Steve's house. The band played a new song that they created this saturday that has yet to be named. It was a fun show. Many people came by and listened to the sounds of Sunnydale, Ohio and really seemed to enjoy themselves. We made 6 bucks from the tip box!!! All of you who think thats not an accomplishment dont realize that no one carries money with them while they trick or treat! On a more important note, one place gratitude is seldom placed, but is very much deserved, is with drummer James Hoelsher. I would just like to personally say, Thank You James Heolscher, for all that you have done for SDO. As the writer of 99% of all our songs, without you, we wouldn't exist. As the driver of not only the band's beat, but motivation, you do so much for this band, and without your constant push, we would not be what we are. Dont stop rockin' and remember, we haven't forgotten how important you really are. (Plus...Drummers are freakin hard to come across!!!)

10/22/04 - Today was an incredible day. Today was our pre game show. Today, we preformed for our first crowd of people in preparation for the Battle of the Bands tomorrow. Screams emmitted from parents, neighbors, uncles, cousins, friends, roadies, groupies, and others who came to support the band. Our tip jar quickly filled to the brim with money. Collectivly we made a much needed $40 for the band. At the crowds request, we played encores to some of their favorite songs and really had a good time. The band fed off the energy of the crowd and really seemed to connect with the audience. If we play like that tomorrow, and grab the crowd like we did today, then we will blow all of our skeptics out of the water! No matter what, tomorrow will be a success. No matter the outcome, SDO will officially become a band.

10/9/04 - Just recently we entered battle of the bands. Fearing that we will not be prepared in time we began a search for a rythem or lead guitarist to fill the gap that our current guitarist Joey could not fill. Our search came up with little results until the unexpected happened. Stephen Keller, an Ex-Sunnydale, Ohio member asked if he could return. We gladly accepted him back. Not expecting too much we gathered in Mark's garage for a band practice. Mark starts playing Cant You See by Marshall Tucker Band, and our of the blue, Bam, Keller explodes out with a killer solo on spot and all on his own. Severly underestimated, Keller quickly regained his position as lead guitarist, and put me, (Mark Reyna, now rythem guitarist) in my place. His solos ran circles around my measly double stops and weak bends. Anyone who loves Marshall Tucker, and can make a great song even better deserves the position. To every song we create, Keller can pull a solo. To every chorus we play, there is a powerful riff there to back it up. We are proud to boast such an incredible musician, and on behalf of Sunnydale, Ohio...Welcome back Keller.

9/15/04 - Tired of the old crappy sound coming from a 10in speaker that could not be heard over Kellers, 2x10 amp, I decided I needed an amp upgrade. Sunnydale, Ohio now boasts a Marshall 4x12 half stack amp. Beat that! Our sounds are now clear and crisp. Our next upgrade will be for Johnny. We'll just have to wait and see what is in store for him...

10/11/04 - Our first live preformance is coming up at Central Catholic on October 22 at Battle of the Bands!!! Our long awaited debut preformance has finally come. The members of Sunnydale, Ohio will finally have the chance to prove that they are for real. Since our last update we have made many changes in our line up. Joey has recently been replaced by the infamous Stephen Keller, "the riff-master" himself taking lead guitar. Mark has been moved to rythem and lead vocals. We have since created two brand new songs that we plan to preform at the show.

We will only have 30 mins to play and that includes set up. So make sure you get there on time. The show starts right after the football game. Our set will start at around 7:00 or 7:30, we are still trying to find out exactly when.
